Consolidated version of the AI Act published

A consolidated version of the AI Act that includes revisions introduced in July 2026 has been published. Contrary to expectations in some corners, software as a medical device remain classified as high risk devices within the Act. There are a number of revisions to the Act concerning dates from which the Act will apply to products falling within its scope. These include the postponement of application of the Act in relation to products falling within the regulations listed in Section A of Annex I to the Act, including software as a medical device. The Act will now enter into force in relation to these products on 2 August 2028.
